Skin Tone and Hair Color

So, I'm trying to get back into drawing. I got this book from our school library with this really interesting section on skin and hair color.

I'm not claiming this art because I basically took the model from the book and, of course, drew her in my own style. She's not exactly the same, but too similar to call my own.

Anyway, I'd thought I'd share this with ya'll. The most basic part of character creating :D

Basic Line Art
From book: The basic line art, uncolored and ready for rendering.
Me: Anyone who wants can use this to exeriment with hair and skin color combination.

Pale Skin
Book: A light skin tome with minimal hue, suitable for a very pale Caucasian character.
Me: Stopping there because I gave her a slightly different hair color than the book. The hair should match nicely with the skin tone and eye color. You can, of course, give your character whatever color hair or eyes you want, but make sure it doesn't look too off.

Rich Skin
Book: A rich skin tone with strong orange/yellow hue, suited to an East Asian look, especially when coupled with black hair and brown eyes.
Me: The book says brown, but I gave her red becuase... I did :XD: Any dark eyes fit really. Strangely, I don't really see and Asian people in anime or manga, unless the story is set in the past. Even then, the people are pale  Don't be afraid to add color to people! It makes them more realistic. Not everyone's pale, this is not Elizabethan Europe.

Dark Skin
Book: A darker skin tone that represents an African-American character. Here, a red-brown hue is used to give a vibrant glowing skin tone.
Me: I attempted to make it glow, at least ^^; I love dark skin, honestly. I don't get why people are so afraid of making their characters dark-skinned. Isis, I know isn't very dark. That's because she was originally me, and I'm not as dark as I'd want to be. (I really don't care anymore, but that's a different story). The great thing about Black people is that we come on a variety of different shades, so you can go crazy with that. Light hair is almost always used to African-American characters, for some reason. Probably because of modern American culture

As I said, it's up to you. Show your creativity! These were just some small tips.
